Our vision at Rivetrix is to provide children with premium educational tools that allow them to not just play but learn as well. We believe that through play children can build resilience, self confidence, partnership, social connectedness to maintain a good psychosocial and emotional wellbeing. With this vision and ideology, the team at Rivetrix which is comprised of professionals in Early Childhood Education from the prestigious RMIT University in Melbourne Australia are focused on designing STEM influenced tools. Our lead educator at Rivetrix is a qualified and practicing Early Childhood Education consultant in Sydney.
We believe that learning through play for our children using loose and open-ended toys is an innovative means for children to continuously express their creativity via constructive play.
Our philosophy is based on Vygotsky theory of social constructivism. Vygotsky’s most influential ideas are those related to zones of development. The place where instruction and learning can take place is the zone of proximal development (ZPD). Learning occurs in this cognitive region, which lies just beyond what the child can do alone. This understanding from Vygotsky has influenced our company’s STEM tools development practices.
As the child learn and develop, the way they play and utilise their STEM tool becomes more evolved. A simple marble race run designed by a younger child today might turn into a complicated creation involving more detailed engineering for an older child tomorrow. We pride ourselves on producing a premium quality product that will last through many years of play in homes and educational centres across the globe. Our premium tools are made using non-toxic, high quality, food-grade materials that are suitable for children. Our tools are designed in Australia according to the Australian safety guidelines. All the required testing and approvals required to market Rivetrix worldwide have been undertaken.
